The Martin County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) was formed as a non-profit corporation on May 29, 1997 to improve employment opportunities  and tax base for the community. Martin County Commissioners appoint four of the eleven MCEDC board members—two county commissioners and two at-large members.  Funding for MCEDC is provided by the Martin County Board of Commissioners, Martin County Committee of 100 and donations from Martin County’s private and business sectors.
